How to earn 5,000€ a month from your website. (pt. 3)

Short-term goal #3: Market your landing page.
With your landing page up and running, you can take a deep breath and begin preparing for the launch of your website. What you should have done BEFORE you read this article…

Based on short-term goal #2: Launch your landing page, you should have already:

  • Begun researching which platform you will use: wordpress, tumblr, weebly, blogspot
  • Registered your name on your chosen social media sites (from short term goal #1)
  • Designed and launched your landing page.
  • Made your landing page shareable.
  • Installed Google Analytics and have begu closely monitoring your landing page’s progress to gauge the internet’s reaction to it.

12. Market your landing page with a broad marketing campaign.
On Fiverr.com for only $5.00 and Tenrr.com for up to $10.00 you can find a long list of people who will:

  • Get you +300 facebook followers.
  • Retweet you to their twitter followers.
  • Post 5 positive comments on your website (once you begin publishing).
  • Get you +1,000 backlinks to your website.

This can add a few hundred followers to your facebook page. These ‘followers’ will probably not be among your high-niche target audience, however they are equally as important, at least from the beginning. Why? Because…

  • The Bandwagon Effect holds that people have a tendancy to do things because other people are doing them.
  • The Status Quo Effect holds that people will ‘like’ things to stay relatively the same.

Disagree? Then which share button do you normally click on:

13. Market your landing page with a high-niche marketing campaign.
On Facebook advertising, you can set up a pay-per-click marketing campaign and narrow your marketing down to only those who will most immediately profit from your website.

For example: there are 44,020 single English-speaking facebook users who live within 16 kilometers of Paris, France between the ages of 18-29 years old not already connected to the controversial manual.

With a humble budget of only 50€/month, you only pay when users click on your advertisement. Your marketing niche is so precise that there’s a strong chance that any users who do click on your advertisement will respond to your call to action and subscribe.

Further, for those who don’t click, they still see your logo (free marketing) on the right hand side of their facebook page along with their fellow facebook friends who’ve already ‘liked’ it.  Chances are your website will eventually come up in conversation among the close niche community, or you will meet somebody in a social networking event who remembers having seen your logo from ‘somewhere…’

14. Make 10 useful comments per day on blogs relative to your high-niche market (which you should have already determined when you determined your business model. This marketing technique costs time instead of money, but it is still very important because it provides backlinks to your website and your informed comments are building the framework for the image you want to present as a website owner. Couple this with Step 13. Marketing via a high-niche marketing campaign, and you can be sure your marketing endeavors grow legs.

15. Determine your website launch date. This launch date should be based on a targeted number of people in your community, not how many blog post drafts you have ready to publish.  What good is having written 30 blog posts if you’ve only attracted 5 people to your community?

Instead, set a specific and obtainable goal to shoot for:

“I will launch my website once I’ve obtained 500 high-niche followers from my high-niche marketing campaign, and I will reach these goals 3 months after the date I officially launched my landing page. During this time I will write 2 blog publishable blog articles per week until I reach my 500 followers.”

Important! If you used fiverr.com or tenrr.com to increase your follower count, don’t include these broad marketing campaign ‘followers’ as your high-niche marketing followers.

Because nobody is perfect…
